Acclaimed writer for children and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was reached following an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
