Loyal fans of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who jumped a barrier and touched the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating video shows the Australian man shoving aside photographers and lunging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a promenade accompanied by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the gathering by security officers.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being detained", though court documents indicated that he was scheduled to be present on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.

History of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a performance. His Instagram feed contains clips of him disturbing other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last December.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is evidently a legal violation," stated an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Voice Worry Over the Star's Safety

Many fans accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the finale of her 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote another response on Instagram.

Several attendees also questioned guards at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some requested digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In clips spreading on the internet, Grande appeared surprised when she was approached by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Hundreds of supporters had congregated in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore venue, including a number who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it started.

The motion picture, to be launched on November 21, is the second of a two-film adaptation of the well-known stage musical Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected friendship between two very different characters.

The show itself is a spin-off of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of the previous year in the UK, and earned a dozen Oscar nominations, earning a pair for excellent wardrobe and production design.
