Prepare yourself, as every year since 1999, Pantone selects a Color of the Year. Responses from critics, however, has proven more critical. Several voices have suggested Pantone of being completely "out of touch." Style expert Mandy Lee called it "a let-down." Some have even drawn parallels to coded promotion of certain ideologies seen in recent advertising.
